Van Gogh

Vincent Van Gogh was born on March 30, 1853. Van Gogh was a talented artist, post impressionist, and an overall great person. His talents were recognized earliest by his loving brother Theo. Van Gogh struggled through life, cutting off part of his ear and eventually shooting himself which led to his death on July 27, 1890. One of Van Gogh's famous painting was starry night. It is sad that Van Gogh was more famous after his death. What a shame that he never got to know how talented people felt he really was.

            An Amazing Man

Vincent Van Gogh is an amazing artist. He is very outgoing; I admire his work a lot. He was born on March 30 1859 and died on July 29 1890. He walked into a wheat field and shot himself in the chest, two days later he had passed away it his brother Theo at his side. He had drawn about 900 drawing and 1,100 painting. Many say that he took his life, and never tasted fame. A couple of years after his death his paintings and drawings got famous behind his story, now they cost about 100 million dollars. The painting that I admire from Van Gogh is Starry Night I find it very creative and astonishing. Vincent Van Gogh lived a short life but his paintings have many more years to come.

Van Gogh

Vincent van Gogh was an interesting man yet a bit crazy. Van Gogh was an artist in post-impressionism , that was his favourite kind of art. He also did paintings and drawings. To be correct he did 900 drawings and 1100 paintings. He acomplished this in 10 years. But sadly in 1890 he walked into a wheat field and shot him self. Then two days later he died with his brother Theo next to him and Van Gogh's last word were, "the saddness will live forever."

Shortly after his death his brother theo got sick and passed away. Now they in peace side by side for eternity.

Van Gogh is one of the most famous artist in the modern world right now, but what is amazing is that he was a ghost in his days. With about 1,100 paintings and 900 drawing's that would sell for about 30,000.00 today ,but years ago it would sell for about 50.00. Another thing we know about Vang Gogh is that he had cut off a part of one of his ears they say he had a fight with with his friend Paul Gaughin.
Van Gough tried seven jobs before Theo his younger brother and Van Gough's favorite brother told him to persue his dreams of bieng and artist. Infact Van Gough had stayed with his brother Theo for awhile and then the busy city.
He moved from Paris ,just outside the city were one day he met his friend Paul Gaughgin and one day had a fight with him, therefore he cut part his ear off. He checked himself into a mental hospital not long afterwards where he had created some of his most famous painting like the 'starry night'.

Not long afterward Vincent Van Gough had died with only one painting sold in his life. Theo died not long after and were buried side by side. Though Van Gough left no impression in his life he did for us.

Vincent Van Gogh

For the past couple days, I have have been studying about Vincent Van Gogh. I read a couple articles about him, researched him online and more. But i think Van Gogh was a really interesting person. I found his life story interesting as well. The part that i found most interesting, was the way he died. Vincent Van Gogh commited suicide and killed himself by walking into a wheat field and shot himself in the chest. I found this really shocking and sad because Van Gogh was a great person. He had a great passion for art, such as .. painting, drawing etc. He admired it and made almost a total of 2,000 drawings and paintings. This reminds me of the time i was reading a newspaper article and a man shot himself with a gun because somebody was making fun of him and he didn't want to be pressured or hurt anymore , so he killed himself. I think if Van Gogh got to live till this day he would have been a millionaire. Van Gogh grew a poor and sadly he didn't get to live the rest of his life rich. Vincent Van Gogh, is a person I will never forget. His life story was really sad and shocking for me. I think Vincent Van Gogh is a hero.

Interesting Thoughts on Vincent Van Gogh

As I learned about Vincent Van Gogh, there were several things that interested me about him. What struck me the most is how he made nearly 900 drawings and 1,100 paintings before his death, but nobody was interested at buying or maybe even looking at his artwork, well, until now. As Van Gogh lived his life, it devastates me that he lost several jobs he tried and couldn't find one that suited him. But, luckily his younger brother, Theo, told him to try out painting. Van Gogh loved so dearly that nothing in the world could stop him from painting pictures. Today, Vincent Van Gogh's artwork is known all over the world and it's worth is so enormous, about 100 million dollars. Van Gogh was a true artist at his work. His work so as the famous "Starry Night" and "Irises" show that he is very talented. His life story has touched millions of people's hearts after his death a few century's ago, but will continue on century's more.

Van Gogh's Life Story

Van Gogh was a good man, but he had struggled through his life. He has had lots of rough times.
Van Gogh and his brother always got along with each other. They would write each other letters to see how they're doing. Van Gogh's brothers name is Theo. So one day Theo came up with the best idea and decided that his brother should become an artist, and Van Gogh agreed with him. In ten years, Van Gogh had made 900 drawings and 1100 paintings. Van Gogh loved doing pointillism art. One of my favorite drawings by Van Gogh was the "Starry Night". Since Van Gogh had ended up going through rough times, he decided to cut a piece of his ear off and kill himself. Van Gogh was alive for 37 years; he was born, March 30th 1853 and died, July 27th 1890. Ever since Van Gogh passed away, he became a very famous artist and I know he's one of my favorite.

Van Gogh

I think Van Gogh was a very  interesting person because he was a very talented painter and no one ever noticed that, except for his family and some other people.

Sadly though, Van Gogh only sold one painting and only became famous after his death.

I think Van Gogh, at some point in his life, lost his mind because he cut a piece of his ear off and tragically shot himself to death! We will never know how good he could have been!

Van Gogh's Art ,To Me

Van Gogh is the best artist in the world. At least to me. His artwork speaks to many people in a way that words can't. I can't believe that people wouldn't buy his paintings then, and they sell for over a 100 million dollars now. They way he uses pointillism and impressionism is astounding. I saw "Starry Night" and it encouraged me to be a better artist. The wat he blends the blues and the black; it feels like you are actually looking up at a beautiful starry sky. People say he was mad and it probobly was true. I don't care about if he was sane or insane, his artwork was magnificent. Even though he died at 37 years old he made nearly 900 drawings and 1100 paintings in a ten year period. I just wish he could taste success. After he died, a couple of his paintings became immensly popular. Van Gogh's artwork spoke to me and it spoke to millions around the world.

I think of Van Gogh as my hero. He was an awesome dude because he didn't care if no one liked his painting, he still painted. He just kept going on, and on until he couldn't go anymore. He was very interesting because he is one of those guys who you would go on google and keep searching until you find his whole life story. Van Gogh knew he was crazy so he went to a mental hospital and checked himself in. In the time he was in there he painted over 100 paintings!! He sent a message to everyone. His message was, do what you love, no matter who tells you otherwise. Back in the day he only sold one painting for like a penny, but now his paintings are like $100,000,000!!  And this is how I will end my blog with Vincent's message. Always follow your dreams.

One Painting Speaks a Million Words

Vincent Van Gogh is a very famous post-impressionist painter. He was born on March 30, 1853 and died at the age of 37 on July 29, 1890 due to suicide. What I found very interesting about him was the fact that his masterpieces of art only became famous 'til after his death. It was quite disappointing to know that Vincent never got any fame in his lifetime and people did not realize how much brilliance this man had and such beauty he included in his work. He didn't have the most successful life, and I can understand how frustrating and sometimes even furiating it would have been if I had made thousands of creations and only one had been sold. Van Gogh went mad at one point of his life but I still think Vincent was very detirmined and was born to be the person he was for a reason. Even when his paintings weren't sold, he still continued to do what he loved. I like the fact that he had tried multiple careers in his life, but eventually found something that was his true passion! Something that he was born to do! In my opinion, I love being creative and doing art. Whenever I do art I prefer to put myself into it; meaning I want to be inspired by something, so that whatever emotion I'm feeling can be spilled out and be present in my work. I prefer to do landscape and still-life art. Sometimes you also tend to say more things in the art than you could in words. I took a look at more of his paintings and I honestly can't explain how much it got me thinking. I realized the different emotions you get when you look at each different one. Each one gave a different mood, and they somehow told a story like each one was speaking. One of my favourite paintings of his is "Starry Night" which makes me think of one of his quotes, "I often think that the night is more alive and more richly coloured than the day."The painting seems so lively with swirling colours at one point, then at another so mysterious and dreamy it makes me feel like I could just wish upon one of the stars in the scenery. There's just something fascinating about that picture that just draws me into it. I would like to know the meaning of his art pieces and why such a brilliant man ended his own life the way he did. Why exactly did he go mad? Was there no other way out of the depression he was experiencing? I think Van Gogh's life story is one you don't hear everyday, and we should understand that he put his heart and soul into his paintings. Maybe Van Gogh and some other people's bad thoughts and problems would just disappear for even a few hours while painting. For them it's a joy that makes them feel like they're running away from their hectic lives in the process without actually leaving home. I think art can be an adventure for everyone, and when that adventure starts it never ends...

Vincent Van Gogh

Vincent Van Gogh was a great artist in the time of his life. I think his life story was very interesting and amazing because of all the twists and turns in his life. He was born on March 30th 1853 in the Netherlands (Holland) .Van Gogh did not really like art at first but he liked it after playing around with it. At one point though he had decided he wanted to be a clergyman instead. Before that happened though he went through many odd jobs such as art dealer, teacher and a bookseller before he became a clergyman which was when his life changed. While he was working as a clergyman he saw how poor people were suffering and decided to give all his things to them. But he gut fired right after because he was accused of taking the teachings too literally. This was not like regular though because he was devastated. Later his brother Theo pushed him to be an artist and by he was an art dealer in Paris he sent paint supplies to Van Gogh every once in a while. He moved to Paris with his brother Theo to learn art but moved away to Arles because of hectic city life. One day he invited a friend named Paul Gauguin and they had a quarrel. Van was chasing down Paul with a razor but could not catch him so he cut off a part of his ear with the razor. Afterward he went to a mental hospital voluntarily and spent a year there. When he got out he walked into a wheat field and shot himself in the chest. I think Vincent Van Gogh was a crazy person but I know he was not lazy, for he made 1100 paintings and 900 drawings.

It is a well known fact that the painter Van Gogh, cut off a piece of his own left ear. The question is why did he cut off his own ear. Some people think he did it because he got in a fight with his friend Paul Gaugain. He was so angry that he was chasing Gaugain with a razor. When he could not catch him, out of anger he chopped off a piece of his own ear. I think after this incident he thought that he was really crazy so he checked himself into a mental hospital. This was one of the first signs that he was eventually going to commit suside. Two years later he committed suside by shooting himself in the chest.

Van Gogh
Vincent van Gogh was an amazing artist who had no fame while he was alive.  I find it sad that his paintings were not selling until after he had died, and I wonder why that is.  Why would people wait until after van Gogh died to display his beautiful pieces of art?  I have no answer, but I think that if you liked his paintings after his death then you should have liked them before his death.  People did not understand his art and they often rejected van Gogh's pieces, which I think played a part in his death.  When you believe you are unwanted or unimportant it can make you feel like giving up.  What I find interesting and inspiring about van Gogh was his passion and perseverance for something that he loved, but no one appreciated.  His career as an artist was only ten years, but he accomplished a lot in that short period of time.  He made about nine hundred drawings, and over one thousand paintings.  No matter how many times people turned down his art, van Gogh still painted and drew wonderful masterpieces.  I am amazed by his skill because I can't draw to save my life.  Most impressive is the fact that van Gogh was self-taught, having taken only a few art lessons.  He had natural and raw talent that people should find inspirational.  Never give up.  At first you don't succeed, try, and try again.

Poetry on Canvas

Van Gogh is a remarkable artist. I have always wanted to get a detailed story on Van Gogh and when I did it really made me look at his life differently.  I thought that Vincent was just a crazy artist, because when I asked to know a little about him I was told he cut off his ear.  When I actually got the whole story I was saddened by his depression but inspired by his passion.  Van Gogh has beautiful art.
The other day I was on the internet and his paintings were amazing.  They were so moving.  To me his work and pieces are poetry in a picture form.  It is so detailed, and the colours are dreamy and soft, they're brilliant.  Van Gogh's art is special because you stare at the picture and appreciate every detail.  I remember in gr.4 in Mr. Talluto's class, we did our version of "Starry Night."  Still today three years later, I remember that picture of "Starry Night" so vividly.  It was sad to know this picture was drawn while Van Gogh was in a mental hospital.  Vincent's paintings are especially intriguing when they show a farm landscape.  Farm landscapes are so peaceful.  I especially love "Landscape Under a Stormy Sky," Van Gogh painted it in Arles, in May 1888.  There are fields and fields of wheat with the thick gray, fluffy clouds in the sky.  The first time I saw it three years ago I loved it and I still remember this painting today!
Van Gogh is such an inspiring artist as he took the mishaps in his life, like him losing his dream job as a minister, one day and step at a time.  Even when he was put down by others about his different perspective on art, he kept drawing and painting.  Today he is considered one of the greatest artists of all time.  We should never get discouraged easily and we should purse out likes whether art, dancing or singing.  Van Gogh's art will always be so brilliant.  Van Gogh is a remarkable artist.

Van Gogh

I thought the story of Van Gogh was very interesting. He was not an only child, he had many siblings, but his favourite was his younger brother, Theo. I was surprised that Van Gogh had many jobs, ones that he did not care for and ones which Van Gogh was shattered when he was fired. Before learning about Van Gogh I thought he knew he wanted to be an artist from his childhood, but I was wrong. Van Gogh only wanted to be an artist when Theo suggested it to him after he was fired from being a lay preacher. Van Gogh was let go of being a lay preacher for taking the Christian teachings to literally. When Van Gogh's friend, Paul Gaugin, who was also an artist, came to visit him, things were going great until nine months later on December  23 1888, they got into a fight. I was shocked, because I thought that Van Gogh was very civilized, when he cut off his part off his own left ear out of frustration. I am glad that he knew he was ill and checked himself into a mental hospital. After about a year he checked out and moved closer to Theo. The next part of his life was very sad; he could not get a grip on life so in 1890 he went into a wheat field and shot himself in the chest. Two days later he died at the age of 37 with Theo at his side. The last thing he said was "the sadness will last forever," that very sentence brought tears to my eyes.

The thing that made me feel even sadder was that Van Gogh made thousands of paintings but no one recognized his talent until after his death. I hope his name and paintings will live on forever.

Van Gogh

I think Van Gogh was a very interesting, complex person.  He had a very hard life as a kid and as an adult. He was a very poor person.  He was also a very inspiring person because though he had no money for an education in art or art materials; he was self taught and received paint materials from his brother.  With all of this he painted thousands of beautiful paintings, but sadly no one cared for them.  Today most of us can afford art material and an education in art, yet we don't show half the compassion that Van Gogh did.  Nothing or no one can compare to what Van Gogh did, which was express his feeling the way they were meant to be.  He was a crazy man but, you can't really blame him after the hard the hard life he had.  He lived his life and had no regrets.  What I thought was very interesting was all the beautiful quotes he left behind.  Sometimes they were heart- felt and sad and at other times they were just inspiring.  Van Gogh's life was like a road trip, sometimes he times he saw a yellow light which meant he had to slow down and think about what to do. Red light meant stop! It's the wrong choice. Green meant okay you figured it out, picked up all the shattered pieces and fixed the puzzle, Go!  Sometimes he would run out of gas and have to refill by going by back and starting over.  That's was Van Gogh life over and over again.  Van Gogh was very close to his brother like any siblings but Van Gogh wasn't  just close to his  brother he loved his brother with passion. His brother was the one who inspired Van Gogh to become an artist and paid for his materials.  Though after he painted the paintings no one but one person bought it today they're worth millions of dollars. The sad thing is that Van Gogh painted all the paintings and we live off his fortune but like Van Gogh said "my sadness will live forever,"

Van Gogh

Van Gogh was an unbelievable artist. His art was gorgeous and I don't know why no one liked his art. After he died, his art was one of the most expensive peices of artwork to buy. At least his loving brother Theo was at his side to help him through rough times. I still wonder why would he try to physicaly hurt one of his best friends because of a quarrel. Van Gogh actually chased his friend, Paul, with a razor. Van Gogh ,eventually, gave up the chase and, I can't beleive he did this, cut off the top part of his left ear. I beleive he was quite mad, and misunderstood. An interesting thing, that make me sad, was that he shot himself in the chest. He must have been very depressed and very misunderstood to have done that to himself. It was very sad because two days later, Van Gogh died. It wasn't that bad because Theo fell ill and died too. The people laid the brothers beside each other so they can rest in peace forever. I think that is sweet. My favourite painting by Van Gogh is "Starry Night". For me, looking at it is captivating and takes your breath away. I am very confused because no one in his time liked his art and now, people in this time are buying them for over 100 million dollars. The people in his time are crazy for not liking his artwork. In my opinion they (the people in Van Gogh's time) are the ones who are crazy because Van Gogh's artwork has been one of the wonderful things since Jesus. His art describes things in a way words can't. The meanings of his paintings are symbolic.
