halloween poem

Halloween Poem

We see all the different changing leaves,
And we all know what's coming near.
We see all the decor on different lawns,
And what we have been waiting for is finally here.
It's halloween of course!
With spinechilling ghosts.
And green skinned zombies,
If you touch them you'll be toast.
The makeup is fang-tastic!
Especially if you're a vampire.
You get to play a starring role,
And get to wear the proper attire.
But all Halloween costumes,
are really, really neat.
And I end this Halloween poem by saying
TRICK-OR-TREAT!

the nest

The Nest
I can connect with the nest, but it's the other way around. Instead of me going somewhere and my parents not letting me, I didn't want to go there but my parents wanted me to. It was all about Teen Ranch, the MOST AWESOME trip you will ever go to in school. I've heard it was better then the Ottawa trip. Since I have a twin, everything a normal child in school needs to pay for is doubled, so instead of $250, it was $500! Anyway I sat at the kitchen table biting my lowerlip, trying to think of a strategy to take my parents down.
My parents and I spoke like we were lawyers trying to free someone's case. I kept using my compelling sentence of," But it's too much money! We won't be able to go to Niagra Falls this summer. I don't want to ruin it for everybody else." Then the fought back with,"You can't get the experience you get from Teen Ranch at school." They did have a point, but there was also another reason I didn't want to pack up and go. The truth is I haven't been away from my parents for more then two days and I would miss them ver, VERY much. Like, on a scale of 1 to 10 on how much I would miss them, it would be 15. Since I am older it helps, but I would still miss them a lot.
It turns out that my sister and I would go, but flushing $500 down the toilet is making me feel a bit(okay a lot) guilty. My parents said they want me to have a fun time and enjoy because an opportunity like this doesn't come along everyday. I'll enjoy it, but not forget about the pain my dad and mom had to go through to do it.

Van Gogh's Art ,To Me

Van Gogh is the best artist in the world. At least to me. His artwork speaks to many people in a way that words can't. I can't believe that people wouldn't buy his paintings then, and they sell for over a 100 million dollars now. They way he uses pointillism and impressionism is astounding. I saw "Starry Night" and it encouraged me to be a better artist. The wat he blends the blues and the black; it feels like you are actually looking up at a beautiful starry sky. People say he was mad and it probobly was true. I don't care about if he was sane or insane, his artwork was magnificent. Even though he died at 37 years old he made nearly 900 drawings and 1100 paintings in a ten year period. I just wish he could taste success. After he died, a couple of his paintings became immensly popular. Van Gogh's artwork spoke to me and it spoke to millions around the world.

The Most Awesome Time Ever!

I went to "Me to We"once and it was fantasticly awesome! At first, it was an hour long ride on a bus that was not really enjoyable. But it was so worth it. We walk into the stadium in the ACC(Air Canada Center), it just opens up in front of you. Purple lights flashing everywhere and the loud buzz of people chatting was making me shiver with excitement. The only part that made me nervous was the stairs. It was so steep and we were so high that I needed to clutch the railing for support when I looked behind me. The people from up there were so tiny, the size of ants. Then, the big TV in the middle(it had 4 sides to everyone could see) was counting down... and so were we. 5,4,3,2,1.0! Everyone was cheering and having a great time. Hedley (a band) played first and we were cheering like no tomorrow. The next thing that caught me eye was when Canine came onstage and started singing "Waving Flag". Everybody was singing along and laughing their heads off. The words that people were saying spoke to me. Craig(the person who started Me to We) had me mezmoreized on what have to do everyday when they are in child labour. Tieing tiny nots to weave carpets and us a tool that kind of helped was what some of those kids did. But the best part I think is when the lights dimmed and everyone took pictures with their cameras at the same time so the whole room lighted up like a christmas tree. It was spectacular. I learned that anyone could help by themselves and as a group. You can make a difference. We can make a difference. I will try to make a difference and I hope you will ,too.
