Van Gogh
Van Gogh is one of the most famous artist in the modern world right now, but what is amazing is that he was a ghost in his days. With about 1,100 paintings and 900 drawing's that would sell for about 30,000.00 today ,but years ago it would sell for about 50.00. Another thing we know about Vang Gogh is that he had cut off a part of one of his ears they say he had a fight with with his friend Paul Gaughin.
Van Gough tried seven jobs before Theo his younger brother and Van Gough's favorite brother told him to persue his dreams of bieng and artist. Infact Van Gough had stayed with his brother Theo for awhile and then the busy city.
He moved from Paris ,just outside the city were one day he met his friend Paul Gaughgin and one day had a fight with him, therefore he cut part his ear off. He checked himself into a mental hospital not long afterwards where he had created some of his most famous painting like the 'starry night'.

Not long afterward Vincent Van Gough had died with only one painting sold in his life. Theo died not long after and were buried side by side. Though Van Gough left no impression in his life he did for us.

  1. This was very detailed and told many facts about Van Gogh. It was a nice summary of his life. This piece of writing would have been more interesting if you told your thoughts about Van Gogh and how it relates to you. If you put your opinion into your writing it goes a long way and interests the readers. Great blog.
    Thanks for sharing.

  2. I loved the sentence in the beginning about him being a "ghost" in his years. That really shows how his life and how his work appeared to others. Haha, I wouldn't of thought of that. Also, your blog was in proper order, was very clear to understand and basically summarized it all up, but what I thought it lacked was self opinions. I am big on knowing what other people thought- whether I agreed or disagreed with their thoughts. Next time I would love to hear more on your opinions or how his life/work relates to whatever you think. Very good blog Lauren, and keep up the good work! (:

  3. I liked reading this blog because you gave a lot of description of Van Gogh's life. It's interesting to see that during his life only one painting was sold. Now at our time, his paintings are worth more than our own lives. Great job Lauren, and keep it up! =D
