The Nest

Text to Self Connection

Text to self connection suits me because I can relate to a boy name Jimmy in the story "The Nest." The reason why I can relate to Jimmy is because whenever  I'm not allowed to do something I end up keeping in my anger, but at times I just always have to let it out.  But that's not it. Another reason why I can relate to Jimmy is because when I know that I can do something to make someone happy; I try my best to succeed at it. If I didn't try to do anything, then I'd end up feeling guilty afterwards. One thing that I don't relate with Jimmy is choosing friends. I wouldn't choose friends that come from a reform school because they wouldn't be a good influence for me, but the way Jimmy chose his friend wasn't such a bad thing. He made a reform student a bright and happy person which was a kind thing to do.

  1. I too probably would be careful around students from a reform school. Yet then again.. don't judge a book by its cover. Jimmy really got to know Paul and just didn't judge him. He was friendly and they ended up being close. Great blog of retelling too!!

  2. I probably would not Hang around kids from a reform school either unless I really could trust them. I agree with Christine you should not judge a book by its cover but I am just like Jimmy's mom I do not like the thought of a reform school.
    Great blog Tiffany!

  3. I also wouldn't hang out with people from a reform school. It was nice the way Jimmy stood up for Paul even though Paul was from a reform school, but if I was Jimmy I wouldn't do that. But hey, that's just me. Everybody has different thoughts. This was a great blog.
