Career Fair Paragraph
On Thursday May 5th 2011 my classmates and I went to the career fair in the gym hosted by the grade eights. The career that I was looking at was an electrician and the grade eight at that stand was Dwayne. I think that I would be very good at that job because according to him you need to be good with numbers and be a precise measurer. Also my dad was showing me things about electrical work when we were putting in lights in our basement. When you are an electrician you could be working on something as small as a light fixture or something as big and complex as a heavy machine motor. Some advantages (pros) about being an electrician are that it is a well-paying job and it is a useful life skill (example: if you needed to fix a light inside your home). The average amount of money an electrician gets annually is eighty thousand dollars and although that is not that much to support a family it is still a pretty good amount. Some disadvantages (cons) about being an electrician are that you have to work all the time even if it is in bad weather such as heavy raining and if you do one thing wrong you can shock yourself then end up in a hospital or even die! To become an electrician it takes about 4 years after education (one year as an apprentice three years as a joneryman) to get to a masters rank. I conclude by saying that an electrician would be a good job for anyone who likes math and working with electricity.
