The Nest

The Nest

In this story, Jimmy's mom said he can't go on a hike with Paul. I could relate to this by when my friends were going to play at the Salvation Army a few weeks ago. They were going there to play around with their skateboards after school. So when I went home after school, I called my mom on the phone and asked her if I could go to the Salvation Army. But my mom said I couldn't go. Then I told my mom that I didn't have any homework. But my mom still said I couldn't go. I told my mom so many different reasons to why she should let me go to the Salvation Army, but she said, "No," to all of my reasons. Then I just hung up the phone. I was angry because I had no homework or anything, but my mom said I couldn't go. Like Jimmy, I learned how to cool myself down. My mom didn't say why I couldn't go; she just said I couldn't go. Just like in the story the way Jimmy was angry when his mom said he couldn't go on a hike with Paul. But he learned how to cool himself down. The only difference was that Jimmy still went on the hike, but I didn't go to play with my friends. Also Jimmy's mom told him a reason why he couldn't go on the hike, my mom never gave me any reason to why I couldn't go play with my friends.

  1. That was an awesome blog Adam. It really sucks when parents say no, it can make you fell so many different emotions, but in the end everything works out and you realize its not a big deal. It was a very good blog!

  2. I think your blog was really great! In some spots you did repeat, but that still reminded the readers that Jimmy had learned how to cool down. You must have felt so furious that your mother said you couldn't go for no particular reason. Good job Adam!

  3. As Danielle said it really is too bad when parents say no. But you should not always get angry because your family probably needs you to do other important things at home. In fact that is usually why I cannot go certain places. Anyways awesome blog Adam!

  4. I totally agree of what Danielle and Sean said. I did the same thing too, but I went to Wonderland. I didn't go, but later on, you forget that ever happens. Great job on the blog Adam!

  6. I like the way you included differences in your blog along with the similarities. It's better to cool down, that to get upset. It means you also have self control. Great blog and good detail!!!

  7. Great blog, that was a good relation to Jimmy's story. Sometimes parents don't allow you to go but they don't even have a reason! It's ridiculous!!
But they are our parents and we do what they say anyway. It is good that you cooled down rather than getting upset and have patience.
Thanks for sharing and interesting blog!

  8. That was a great blog Adam. You did repeat a couple times but I still like it. My mom says no a lot, too except, unlike you, it takes me a while to calm down. Keep up the great work!

P.S It is good that you learned to cool yourself down. I haven't learned how to do that.
