My Worst Halloween
Every October 31st everyone gets all excited & happy to go trick or treating but not me I loathe Halloween. The reason for all this hate was in grade 2 my parents made me go as a witch for the fourth time. I got all dressed up to go trick or treating and my sister put some make-up on me. Just when my sister was done the door bell rang. I opened the door no one was there but then all of a sudden my cousin jumped out and sprayed me with a water gun. I was really mad because my make-up was getting ruined, I was just about to go check my make-up in the mirror but my mom was ready to leave to go trick or treating so I just went. I was so excited so I ran down the street, not knowing my shoes were untied I fell and ripped my dress, my mom called my name I ran back to her. When I got there she looked at me and laughed, then she pulled out a mirror, I looked in it and I got scared, the water gun that my cousin sprayed at me made my make up run. After I washed my makeup off and continued my trick or terror.
I went to about 10 houses and at each one people tried scaring me and I fell for it. After those 10 houses my bag started to overflow. I went to my next house I knew that they were going to scare me so I decided not to fall for it. I walked up the owners' driveway not noticing that there was a scarecrow next to me and a fake cat next to me. I rang the doorbell of course they tried to scare me but I didn't fall for it, so they dumped the candy in my bag. My bag was getting really full and heavy so I decided I would go home, I turned around the scare crow was standing up and the real-fake cat on my leg. Both their eyes piercing at me and mine piercing back, I ran scared and crying to my parents. As I was running I tripped over the ledge of the sidewalk and my full bag of candy flew onto the road and a car ran over it. I came home crying that night.
In the night I woke up screaming after a night mare I had, it was about a scarecrow chasing me and that went on for about 2 days. My mom told my sister about it and of course like any siblings she liked scaring me. So she bought a scarecrow and for 5 days she pushed that thing in my face. But after awhile it got old and I got over it. It turned out that the one who wanted to scare me the most actually cured my phobia of scarecrows. But there is one thing that scares me more than scarecrows my sister there the worst type of phobia you can't get rid of!

Oh my gosh I can't beleive all that happening in one night! You must have felt destroyed! I really liked how you used a lot of words that others would not think of using. This is one of the most interesting stories I have ever head of in my life. It deserves a gold star! I think this story is good enough to be on the Toronto Star! I can see it now! The headline will be "Happy Halloween!NOT!" Wouldn't that be nice! This is a wonderful story.
ReplyDeleteYou are so totally right Danielle! Sister phobia never goes away, no matter how hard you try, they will never ever leave you. Older sisters are the worst. They will absolutely, in no way, let you live something down. They also think they are better then you in every possible way.
ReplyDeleteYou have great writing but there is one thing I wish you could have included. When you said that at every house you went to, the people tried to scare you. How did they scare you? Did they jump out from hiding places? If they did jump out from hiding places, I personally hate that and can completely relate to your unhappiness.
This story made me laugh. Thinking back I bet you laugh at this story. I can't fathom that all these things happened...in the same night. What a trooper you were. I really liked your choice of words they really made the story interesting.
ReplyDeleteI remember when I went trick or treating I would walk up to a house and there would be a chair with a dummy in it or you thought. You would walk by it and it would jump out at you and you would run to yuor parents and start crying. I feel your frustration. I can't imagine a car running over all your delights, how devastating.
Thanks for sharing a great story.

That was so funny! I love that last sentence about sister phobia. If I went through the same issue, then that would have been my worst halloween aswell.By the time you got home, you must have gotten many scrapes and broozes. Besides all of that, it was a GREAT story!

Ahah! Very humorous blog! Especially the last part about the worst type of phobia! As an only child I do not have an experience with siblings, but that was really funny! GREAT retelling of that halloween night! Some words in your writing made the blog more interesting and alive! Oh and what a waste of candy! Hope that doesn't happen again! Great Job!

Good Blog Danielle I think that you should be thanking your sister for that even though she still scares you. But getting your candy ran over by a car is even worse than when I only got lollipops for Halloween. I hope nothing this bad ever happens to you again Danielle.
ReplyDeleteThis blog wasc really funny! I can't imagine you're facial expression when all of this happened to you. It must of been really funny. The way you made this blog was awesome. It had a lot of details in it and it had your feelings in it too which made this blog really awesome.

I thought your blog was very humerous. Although it was very mean for them to scare you when you were so young. The people on my street never scare us, especially when I am with my younger cousins. But if that happened to me, I would probably hate Halloween just as much as you hate it right now.
ReplyDeleteOMG! I am so mad at that cousin of yours. If my cousin did that, I would say I'd do something and do nothing. Just let them get paranoid. Any way, great sentence structure and your right, sister phobia will never go away!
